Experimentation...
Yesterday I was really left flustered and annoyed, when I shared a new song with someone who is supposed to be a guidance figure in my career, only to be left feeling belittled because it "wasnt on the right track", or that I'm "not staying focused" .....
As an artist, why should I not be allowed to create any way I want to , if I feel it is going to inspire me and help me see my songs in a new light. If I want to add a certain beat to one song, if it is going to inspire me to finish a song I havent touched in a few years, then why the eff not? I think any form of song arrangement , or experimentation IS "focus"... as long as I am working on my music, it should be considered focus. Well that is my little rant for the day ... it has been heavy on my mind since yesterday afternoon , and a quote that I just found while reading my monthly subscription to Glamour Magazine.... it made me go , AHA! Now here is someone who knows what theyre talking about .... Thank you Tori Amos....

Lonely Summer
This song was actually written two summers ago and I guess you can say it’s about a summer fling gone bad. The catch is that the fling is with someone that was originally just a friend, so in the bridge when I say “I know I shouldn’t feel regret, but I do” it is meaning that normally I wouldn’t regret just the fling itself, but I do because I have lost that friendship in return…. Someone who once called you all the time to hang out, or confides in you about other people, now shuts off all communication to you. So here it is ….

Dreamworld
So this song I wrote awhile ago, and played about half of it live once. The basic concept of the song is kind of about having a falling out with someone and then having continuous dreams about them, but in the dream everything between you two is perfectly fine. And the song is saying that you don’t want to stop dreaming because in that world , that is the only time when everything is ok, and you just want things to go back to that. So here it is….
I’d like to add a lyric in the bridge, but I’m not sure if it needs it… I guess that’s something I will worry about in production. The sound of this song was inspired by Plumb.
